UPSA Students To Take End Of Semester Exams Online, Giving Students 48 Hours For A Paper

The University of Professional Studies, Accra has rolled out measures to conduct its end of Second Semester Examination for the 2019/2020 academic year.

In a statement signed by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Barnor Tuesday, the school says the end of Second Semester examinations will be conducted online based on the scheduled timetable published by the Academic Affairs Directorate.

“The examinations shall be Take-Home-Exams (THEs) or Assignments,” the statement read.

“The maximum time allotted for each THE shall not exceed 48 hours,” the school has cautioned.

The University of Professional Studies, Accra was compelled to resort to the use of a virtual platform to continue with academic work due to the closure of both public and private universities as a result of the spread of the coronavirus.

The school’s virtual platform discriminates against students who have not registered for the academic year and who will be paying penalty for late registration.

There were rumours that the school will not conduct any examination for its students many of whom are unable to access the virtual platform due to non-registration and poor internet connectivity.

But the University has parried that claim, saying the online examination will take the form of either Take-Home-Exams (THEs) or Assignments.
