R. Kelly was arrested last month in Chicago on charges of sex abuse and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday, 2 August, 2019.
The singer, who has been in police custody in Chicago, was moved to New York yesterday, but according to his attorney, Douglas Anton, he went missing when they arrived in New York.
Luckily, he was present for his court hearing and has pleaded not guilty to a number of crimes he allegedly committed.
The fallen RnB super star appeared in a back-to-back hearing in a federal court in Brooklyn following his arrest accusing him of engaging in child pornography.
He was charged with exploiting five victims, identified only as ‘’Jane Does’’. According to court papers, he meet one of the ‘’Jane Does’’ at a concert and another at a radio station where she was an intern.
Speaking on the issue, R. Kelly’s attorney stated; ‘’No one wants to be confined. Mr. Kelly is very optimistic, upbeat he has a lot of faith. That’s what’s keeping him through all of this.’’
He is however still on trial in Chicago, where he faces a long time in prison for his alleged sex crimes.
