Nam1 Appears In Court After Defrauding 16,000 People Of Ghc 1.68 Billion

It looks like the issues surrounding the controversial CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah never ends. 

NAM1 was arrested on July 11that the Kotoka Airport upon arrival from Dubai. He has been in police custody since he arrived because he hasn’t been granted bail.

According to the state prosecutor, NAM1 is said to have defrauded 16,000 people of GHC 1.68 billion, claiming that he was investing their money.

A charge sheet spotted on Graphic Online suggests that Menzgold and Brew Marketing Consult are responsible for defrauding one Francis Agodzi and 16,000 others  GHC 1.68billion plus. The two firms are again being accused of illegal deposit-taking businesses.

Speaking to Nii Armah Amarteyfio, the Public Relations officer of Menzgold on UTV, he stated that NAM1 was handed over to the authorities in Ghana for investigations but as it stands, he is free of all charges in Dubai. So, it is now up to the local authority to continue the investigation into NAM1’s case which they started in 2018.

When asked if Nana Appiah Mensah was arrested or invited to the police station, he stated that he is not in the position to disclose that piece of information. 

He further stated that Menzgold will do anything in their power to pay their customers back when they receive the money owed to them by the Dubai Company and others.
