'I almost killed my daughter' - Kanye West break down in tears at first campaign rally

Rapper and US presidential candidate Kanye West broke down in tears during his first campaign event in North Charleston, South Carolina, on Sunday, saying his father wanted him to be aborted, and that he “almost killed” his daughter.

West, who was wearing a bullet proof vest, spoke about his personal life revealing that he and his wife, a reality show star Kim Kardashian, considered having an abortion when she was pregnant with their daughter North.

The rapper was filmed addressing the crowd in tears, saying, “I almost killed my daughter.”

He also mentioned that his own father wanted his mother to have an abortion before he was born, but his mother saved him life.

West also talked on racial equality, saying, “The National Basketball Association is not owned by any black, Universal Music is not owned by any black. Any celebrity that keeps talking is not the real power.”

He reportedly discussed prominent abolitionist figure Harriet Tubman, saying she “never actually freed the slaves.” West initially announced his bid to become president of the United States on July 4.
